Renowned director Christopher Nolan prefers to sit near the front, in the middle of the third row for cinemascope ratio, and slightly behind the center line for IMAX theaters. Experts suggest sitting in the center of the room, aligned with the screen, to centralize your field of vision and prevent strain.

The answer is in the sound. According to Steve Martz, a sound engineer at THX, the company responsible for the high-fidelity sound used in most cinemas, the best rows to sit in are two-thirds before the last row, counting from the first row of seats.

Senior Wednesdays offers patrons 60 years of age and older a discounted price, at select cinemas, every Wednesday.

Tickets tend to be cheaper at most theaters on the first few days of the week, since those days are slow. But experts say Tuesdays are the best days to save. AMC and Cinemark both have something called “Discount Tuesdays" where you get money off your ticket.

Whilst it is expensive, I'm really glad I booked premium seating. I was the only person in the row which made it very personal and comfortable.

The average IMAX screen size is approximately 72' x 50' (22m x 16m), which is significantly larger than traditional movie screens of approximately 50' x 20' (16m x 6.1m). Is IMAX worth it? Yes, it is absolutely worth the price of admission. It's the biggest screen with the best quality.

The cheapest days to go are always Monday to Thursday. Most cinemas have lower prices on these days, and cheaper still before 5pm. So it's worth looking to see what your local cinema offers.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Fridays outperformed all other weekdays in terms of ticket sales, consistently being the most popular night to attend the theatre.

As a general rule, weekend tickets (starting with Friday night performances) are more expensive. The cheapest day and time to see a Broadway show is typically weeknights (Tues. - Thurs.). If you go to a weekday matinee you may find even better prices.
